Purchased it as a frameset from Silver Spring Cycles.

Main points: Mavic Starfish crank, 39/53. Campy Record hubs (high flange rear) Ambrosio rims.Look pedals. Campy seatpost, Regal perforated mint white saddle (very rare now). TTT Bar and Stem. Shimano 600 brakes,  Dura Ace FD, Suntour Superbe RD (v rare, with all the alloy bolts), Suntour Retro friction shifters, Dia Compe aero levers.

Stronlight roller headset. Phil Wood BB. Blackburn cage.

Pedals are Look "Carbon".

Bike sold June 4th 2021

Some shots of my circa 1955/6 Armstrong PathRacer fixed-gear before I sold it in April 2021.

I bought the bike sight unseen as a Frameset plus Headset back around 2002 or 2003 from a Bicycle dealer in Scotland who posted For Sale notices on the Classic Rendezvous List occasionally. When I got the Frameset I was wonderfully surprised at the condition and quality of my lucky purchase. The Scottish Dealer told me that the finish is/was original, making this the most amazingly well-preserved 65 year-old bike I have ever seen. It rides beautifully too: I set it up as a fixed-gear with Prior rear hub, Phil Wood BB, Campagnolo Nuovo Record Cranks, a Universal front brake, Mavic Bar and stem, and a self-covered saddle in Deer hide. Tape was a couple of layers of white cotton, lots of Polyurethane, and a "French Cut" to the end (Tip of the cap to old friend Andre there, he might be the only person on the planet to get that one). Here's to hoping she looks as good still in another 65 years!!!

I bought the bike as an EBay auction, probably around 2004. So, before people were really "looking". The auction was for the complete bike, almost as seen here. The only things I switched out were the Bar/Stem (for fit). The saddle, and the pedals.

Rachael's Simple Sandwich...

Watched my friend Rachael (Yes, with two A's) build her Breakfast Sandwich this AM.

Toast expertly toasted in a hot frying pan, with ambidextral toast flipping performed impromptu when challenged. Bonus points, even from the grouchy East-German Judge, for that.

Luncheon meat, then cheese toasted, followed by a friend egg (Sunny-side up, of course).

I witnessed the consumption too, which took far less time than the creation, which led to an impressive C/C ratio of 0.68.

It's clearly not capable of challenging my Breakfast of Champions in the Super Heavyweight category, but Rachael has other creations up her sleeve.

A week away...

Coming back from a great week on the shore in Rhode Island. A week of relaxation, good food, great company, and the looming portent of a hurricane touching ground almost exactly where I was returning to, at the same time as I wold be arriving. So, I took American Air’s kind offer of flying back a day early. Regardless, there was plenty of turbulence on the approach to landing at Charlotte NC. One poor soul had to bolt to the bathroom at the last minute as the plane was being thrown around a lot. Regardless, it was a better landing than some I’ve experienced in much calmer conditions.

Toast, jelly, bacon, Heinz 57 sauce, fried tomatoes and eggs.

Breakfast of Champions....

Blasts that poxy little BLT out of the water, though a good BLT is delicious... Few words are necessary, just watch and enjoy. Just waiting for Silicon Valley to bring us a working "Smell-o-Rama". Orange marmalade is applied to the toast first, before the sauce. The mixture of Toast, Heinz57 sauce, fried Tomatoes and eggs with a little salt and pepper is just sublime.
